Mai Ngoc Anh (Anna) Nguyen studies Social Studies, Economics, and International Relations at Wesleyan University. She has been called a "floating vegetable" between the educational systems of Vietnam, China, England, and the United States. Her research and professional interests focus on the relationship between business and education, and the concept of a "bystander effect" instilled by the global educational system. She led Wesleyan's student leadership in Covid-19 contingency planning with the University's senior leadership. She was the first international and first-generation, low-income female student to be elected Wesleyan student government's President in its 200-year history. Anna is from Vietnam.
