About the Event 活动介绍
In 2015, through the Paris Agreement adopted at COP21, countries agreed to limit global warming to well below 2 °C and to pursue efforts to limit it to 1.5 °C. “Climate overshoot” is the crossing of that lower threshold. As scientists and policy-makers explore the actions necessary to stay within 1.5 °C warming, most optimistic scenarios foresee overshoot by mid-century, potentially lasting several decades or more.
Join Pascal Lamy, Chair of the Climate Overshoot Commission, HE Kebin, Professor at Tsinghua University’s School of the Environment, and Professor XUE Lan, the Dean of Tsinghua University’s Schwarzman College, for a conversation about climate change over the coming century and what actions the world can take to mitigate its effects. A moderated panel discussion with our guests will be followed by a Q&A session with attendees.
